Differently Abled, Not Disabled: Supporting Autism Awareness
When a parent learns that their child has been diagnosed with a developmental disability, it may be tremendously stressful and heartbreaking. During this period, families must learn to manage the increased challenges and responsibilities that come with having a loved one on the autism spectrum. In addition to the emotional toll, families caring for special needs children may suffer financial issues. Chavez Insurance Group aims to alleviate families of any additional burdens during this difficult period. We want to concentrate our efforts on creating awareness and advocating for the most vulnerable members of our community. As a result, our organization will be supporting The Autism Society of Texas to help persons with Autism as part of our next Community Cause.

Unfortunately, the harsh reality is that nationwide, there are about 500,000 children in the foster care system looking for a forever home. This is why we are excited to be supporting the work of Together We Rise, which works to improve the lives of children in foster care, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public.

Hutto Has Heart: Continuing to Support Families In Need
Often, resources for financially disadvantaged families are difficult to locate and access, especially in one easy place. At our agency, we believe that no family should struggle to keep themselves above water and that if they need assistance it should be easily and readily available to those seeking help. This is why we have decided to continue our support of The Hutto Resource Center, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources that improve the well-being of individuals in the Hutto. The HRC provides financial assistance to those in need as well as operates a weekly food pantry.

In 2019, 18,615 children entered the foster care system alone according to the Department of Family and Protective Services. The system can be a daunting and overwhelming place to be for children. Together We Rise is a nonprofit organization built on making a vision into a reality and dedicated to transforming the way youth navigate through the foster care system in America. Every child deserves to have a bright future with a sense of normalcy and belonging. The foundation has provided thousands of foster youth across the country with new bicycles, college supplies, and sweet cases so that children do not have to travel from home to home with their belongings in a trash bag.
